Mrs. Sloan’s class enjoyed learning about Veteran’s Day. They made flags and poppies, and they also decorated thank you cards for soldiers.

Mrs. Anderson’s 6th-period class enjoyed some fresh air today…some days we all need a little change of scenery to be successful!

We are so excited to welcome author, Mrs. Patricia Neely-Dorsey, to PJHS on November the 19th!

Mrs. McKnight asked her class the following question - “Do we control technology or does it control us?” Students then summarized their responses in one word and submitted their responses online. Their word bubbles have been interesting to see!

We had some great entries in this year’s RRW Door competition. Classes were asked to use an anti-drug or bullying message in their theme. Winners will receive a donut party for their first period!

We had 11 students nominated for recognition at PJHS this past week! Way to go, Warriors!

Data shows that every year kids are starting to use drugs and alcohol at younger ages. Middle school drug use is a more pressing matter for this generation than ever before.

1. Drug use among 8th graders increased 60% between 2016 and 2020.
2. By 12th grade, 62% of teens have abused alcohol.
3. 50% of teens have misused a drug at least once.
4. 9 out of 10 addictions start in the teen years.

Parents, please make sure that you talk to your children about the dangers of drugs and alcohol. Talking to your children directly and honestly results in children respecting your rules and advice about alcohol and drug use.

Olivia Hamblin placed 4th overall and was 1st for the Lady Warriors at the Cherry Creek Regionals. Several of our PJHS students represented the Warriors in the competition. Way to go, Warriors!

This week, Mrs. Anderson's science classes are playing a game to investigate how limiting factors affect deer populations.

Drop, Cover and Hold On! PJHS students and staff were among the 14 million participants who were registered in the 2021 Great Shake Out Earthquake Drills within the US.
