Students and teachers dressed up to show their school spirit for homecoming week!

Our warriors enjoyed their cross country meet this past weekend in Tupelo for the Tupelo Invitational. The junior high top 7 girls were: Sami Bond, Ava Whiteside, Sara Campos, Claire Gravat, Meredith Farley, Lillyen Harbin, and Taylor Duggar. The top 7 boys were: Cameron Braxton, Luis Moreno, Adriel Coh, Dayn Wilson, Samuel Aguilar, Noah Parmer, and Roman Lee. Congrats to our PJHS Warriors!

The girl's cross country team finished 2nd in 4A, while the boys finished 4th in 4A at Saltillo on Saturday.

The Warriors were finally able to take the field at home Monday night. 7th grade fought hard against the Hilltoppers, but it was the 8th grade that came out on top. We also want to congratulate our PJHS Fold Band and cheerleaders for a job well done as well! #beawarrior

STOPit is an online reporting tool designed to deter and mitigate bullying, cyber abuse, and other inappropriate behaviors, consisting of an app and a back-end incident management system for school administrators.

Our students will have access to the STOPit mobile app, which has two simple but powerful features.

Report can be used by students to report incidents to school contacts anonymously.

Messenger can be used to engage in anonymous two-way communication with school contacts.

Both Report and Messenger empower students to stand up for themselves and for one another. Students have the power to help put an end to harmful and inappropriate behavior they see online through social media and other means. They can use STOPit to reach out for help if they or a peer are facing a personal crisis or experiencing bullying, abuse, or are otherwise in need of assistance. Our goal with STOPit is to create safer, kinder, school communities both online and off.

No student information is needed to use STOPit. The only way personally identifiable information will be accessible through STOPit is if a student voluntarily includes it within the content of a report or message.

Both our school and STOPit are committed to protecting the privacy of student data. STOPit is a signatory to the Student Privacy Pledge, spearheaded by the Future of Privacy Forum and the Software & Information Industry Association. The PHS cheer squad is excited to host "Mini Cheer Camp." Participants will join PHS and PJHS Cheerleaders during practice on Sept. 7-9 from 3:30-5:30 and will perform their dance before the football game on Sept. 10.

Students in Mrs. Moore’s room listen along as City of Ember plays on audiobook. Last week, students mimicked the “assignment day” scene in chapter one and each drew a “job.” After making predictions about what their job might entail, students began recording text evidence about their job responsibilities as they listened to the first two chapters of the book. At the end of the book, students will decide if the job they drew was what they predicted it would be and if it would be one they would like to have in real life.
