1/17/23 Congrats to the students that received warrior recognitions last week!

1/17/23 Mrs. Harvey’s 8th graders completed a “Word of the Year” assignment where they chose a word that they felt they could commit themselves to for 2023. Students were required to write a brief statement about why they chose their word, and then draw the word on their paper. They are on display in the classroom to serve as a reminder to students of what they chose to commit themselves to this year!

1/09/23 Congratulations to our 2022 Teacher of the Year - Shelbie McKnight, Paraprofessional of the Year - Kesha Buchanan and Nutritional Provider of the Year - NeFrida Quince.

1/09/23 Coach Minga's classes spent the first day back reflecting on some of their favorite moments of 2022 using Play-Doh and other fun things!

They also challenged their inner teamwork skills by using marshmallows and spaghetti noodles to see who could build the tallest tower!

1/09/23 After writing benchmarks before Christmas break, students and staff enjoyed a student vs faculty basketball game, complete with a few halftime performances.
The school faculty won both games. In the afternoon skills challenge, Coach Minga won overall and Alex Perez was our student winner. In our last game the faculty took on the boy’s basketball team, which resulted in a tie (35-35).

12/13/22 Students have been completing personality assessments and career exploration through a new program, Major Clarity, in Cyber Foundations classes and with the school counselor. We encourage students to access their accounts at platform.majorclarity.com to continue their exploration.

12/12/22 Mrs. Sloan's class read a book called, "Little Tree", last week in the library with Mrs. Cooper. They also colored their own little tree to keep!

12/12/22 Students are enjoying this month’s makerspace in the library. This month's focus was crafting, origami and puzzles. Thank you Mrs. Cooper for focusing on making the library fun for students.

12/08/22 Mrs. Russell's math classes explored slopes using similar triangles.
