2/07/23 Mrs. Cruse, our school counselor, has spent the last several weeks in our 8th-grade history classes helping them create their 4-year ISP plans. Hopefully, these ISPs (Individual Success Plans) will help students see the opportunities available to them in the coming years, in addition to giving them the knowledge needed to complete their course requests. High school counselors will be coming in next week to help students start course selection for 9th grade.

2/07/23 Ole Miss Career Camp Opportunities:
There is a limited amount of career camp scholarship funding available for Pontotoc students, through CREATE's Toyota Wellspring Education Fund. Please visit the camp's scholarship page or make direct contact with the camp if you are interested in applying for camp scholarship funding for your student. This funding is first come, first served and must be requested by the parent/guardian. Parents are responsible for their student's camp registration and transportation to and from camp. Before signing up for a camp, please make sure your student has a sincere interest in attending, knows they are available to attend on the specific camp dates, and meets camp requirements. 1/31/23 Students in Dr. Fitt's class shared their published work for their Historical Fiction Book Project Portfolio. Students researched a time period and chose a fiction book based on a historical event they were interested in. As they read, they wrote about the characters and events. They then chose 4 works from their portfolio to include in the project. Students were proud of their work and enjoyed presenting their portfolios.

1/31/23 Mrs. Sloan's class visited Mrs. Cooper in the library for a lesson on the book, The Invisible String. Students also colored Valentine's Day pictures and met with Mrs. Manning to discuss comprehension questions.

1/24/23 Mrs. Russell's Algebra I classes are completing an activity solving systems of equations.

01/23/23 Last week the Symphonic Winds from William Carey University performed a concert in the PJH Auditorium for Pontotoc’s HS and 8th-grade bands, as well as the high school bands from Mooreville, South Pontotoc, and North Pontotoc. We thank them for their wonderful performance!
