(1.11) PJH girls have their first Powerlifting meet Thursday, January 11th and the boys will meet Friday, January 12th. Be sure to check the schedule and show your support.

(1.11) We are excited to announce three of our PJHS Students will be competing at the County Wide Spelling Bee on January 18. Be sure to come out and support them!

(12.18) Our PJH Student Council spent their personal time volunteering to shop for the Angel Tree. These students worked hard raising money and were able to buy for 10 PCSD students. They collaborated and communicated so well, all while shopping within their budgets. They were so excited about choosing the perfect items in hopes of making Christmas special for these children and their families. Thank you to Mrs. McKnight, the student council sponsor, for organizing the shopping trip and to our parents who volunteered their time to drive and supervise our students. It was a late, but fun night of giving back!

(12.18) A’s vs Sleighs Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. Slay's 8th-grade science students faced off in a series of review games for their upcoming Benchmark.

(12.12): The PJHS Beta Club took a trip to Sunshine Nursing Home to spend some time with residents today. Students did crafts, ate cookies, and sang Christmas carols with the residents.

(12/12): The librarians of Pontotoc City School District attended the inaugural symposium for school libraries this week at Ole Miss. The presenters informed us of up-to-date information on weeding books, censorship issues, Artificial Intelligence, TechTalk, Canva for Educators, and Magnolia resources. The University of Mississippi Museum has different traveling trunks for teachers to use in their classrooms. A new one is expected to be released this spring - Pontotoc county's very own, M.B. Mayfield. The trunk lessons will contain a thematic introduction, materials and instructions for a visual arts component, a language arts component, and a social studies or history component. A local author, Dr. Gloria Burgess, spoke of her book, Pass It On, and how librarians and educators have great influence on students to inspire them to pass kindness and good deeds on to others.

(12.12) We had several students from PJH Student Council and Cheer volunteer at the Merry Little Christmas Party in downtown Pontotoc. It’s so nice to see our students volunteer their time to help out in our community.
