(8/21) It’s time for another Would You Rather Friday at PJHS! Each Friday, students get to cast their vote as they enter the building, giving us a fun way to learn more about our students and spark a few conversations along the way!
This week’s question was: Would you rather use a pencil or a pen?

(8/20) Our 7th Grade Science students are completing a Scientific Experiment Analysis Assignment! Students are identifying and highlighting the different parts of the scientific inquiry process within a variety of example experiments.

(8/19) This year at PJHS, we are making a push to move away from relying on technology in the classroom and get back to the basics. Our Leadership Team worked together to create the Warrior Playbook, a daily resource designed to get students’ brains engaged, build connections, and set the tone for a successful day.
Each day has a different focus:
- Mindset Monday
- Tackle the Problem Tuesday
- Word Play Wednesday
- Think Strategy Thursday
- Feature Friday
We are excited to see students enjoying the playbook and can’t wait to see how it can positively impact them throughout the year!

(8/14) A new and engaging event is happening this year at PJH! Every Friday, students will get to vote in a "Would You Rather" question when they walk into these halls in the morning. The poll stands ready throughout the day so students can vote through their break. Once all have had an opportunity to vote, the scores will be tallied! Check back each Friday to see what the question of the day will be!

(8/14) 8th graders in Ms.Abrams and Ms.Mason's math classes practiced classifying rational and irrational numbers, making approximations, and placing them on a number line in preparation for a math test this week.

(8/14) Students in Mrs. McLaughlin’s Spanish class put their newfound Spanish skills to the test by reading short Spanish passages about various cultures and answering questions about them.

(8/10) Math rats, that is! Today our 8th grade math teachers introduced RATional and irrational numbers. Their slogan, “The RATS can do it,” is a reminder that rational numbers can be a fraction, can repeat, can end, and can be a perfect square!

Pontotoc City School District will be remain closed Friday, January 30 due to power outages and other issues from inclement weather.
